Since joining Van Hawn and Jack Morrison in 1989 at the firm’s founding, Tim has been closely involved in the investment activities of the firm, including leading or co-leading investments in Marathon Funds I through V, serving on the board of directors of portfolio companies and working with portfolio company management teams.
Tim currently sits on the board of directors for GHJ&M portfolio companies Houlihan’s Restaurants, Mid Valley Industries, Imperial Plastics and Universal Turbine Parts.
Tim began his career at JP Morgan in New York in 1973 after graduating from Denison University and Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. A native Wisconsinite, Tim returned to the Midwest in 1985 where he joined First Bank System in Minneapolis as Group Vice President. Responsibilities included setting policy for strategic underwriting, portfolio risk management as a member of the Credit Policy Committee and managing a leverage buyout advisory group.
He is a former member of the Wayzata Public Schools board of directors.
